A state-of-the-art, affordable photography and digital imaging facility for both beginning and professional artists, Community Darkrooms has been supporting artists since 1972.
Our artist-oriented space offers a digital lab with high end scanning and printing equipment, a digital services area, private reserve digital studios, black-and-white darkrooms, a lighting studio, and a lounge and library where artists from all over the world converge. Our facility has been used by over 350 of Light Work's Artists-in-Residence, photographers, and designers needing highly calibrated large-format digital output as well as a number of artists printing for gallery exhibitions or collections (Amy Elkins, Jen Davis, Christian Patterson, Dawoud Bey, Deborah Willis, Lonnie Graham, Suzanne Opton, and Scott Conarroe, Tony Gleaton, Michael Tummings, and more).
Our services include high resolution scanning and digital printing, as well as the area's best photo related workshops. Our staff is here to answer all your questions about using our facility to make the most of your images. Our facility is truly one of the best in the world.
